    American Wildfires

Park Fire: My buddy had a place in Cohasset, 40 acres on the ridge above Rock Creek, well inside the burn, it survived! He had a pool, and when the power went out they sucked water out of the pool and saved the house. Unfortunately there’s no muni water service up there, just wells, so when...

How many hours of dark are TRULY needed to induce flowering?

You have to factor in that outdoors the first hour of light and the last hour are so low in the sky that it’s really not usable light for the plant. My plants used to start to flower about mid-August too!

    Sf 4000 light hight/

Since it’s running at 100% I think you’ll want it much higher, especially with seedlings. SF recommends 24 inches at 40-60% for seedlings. 18 inches at 80-100% for veg. 12 inches at 100% for flowering. Since yours doesn’t have a dimmer, you’ll have to hang it higher for seedlings and veg.

How many hours of dark are TRULY needed to induce flowering?

Try it and see, the downside might be less dense or airy buds, but you’ll never know unless you try. That said, I’m sure it’s been tried, and if it worked, you’d think it would be the standard.

Preparing my hole for something big

I used to have a black clay in my yard, and sand worked for a while, but when it dried it was like concrete, the only thing that really helped break it up well was gypsum. I still think he's better off to just dig out a big hole and fill it back in with good potting soil or mix up some...

Preparing my hole for something big

Gypsum works well for breaking up clay soil, but I’d remove as much as possible.

Preparing my hole for something big

I saw the title and was scared of what I might see!(LOL). I’d dig out a lot of the clay and then mix in a lot of compost, perlite, bone meal, dolomite ,silicon (DE) would work and some manure. Great planning, since you’ve got months to let it cook. I’m sure there’s some good soil recipes...

    Friend or foe?

True, but neither goes directly from egg to adult. Stink bug larvae don’t look too much like adults.

    Friend or foe?

Stink bugs (and leafhoppers) both have a larval stage.

    Friend or foe?

Foe! Looks like a leaf hopper of some kind, sucks plant juices. Probably molted from a nymph or instar stage to adult.

    Hermaphrodites

The seeds are yours, how did they come about? Were they from pollen chucking or were they from a hermie plant? There's really no way to know why they're hermies, usually it's genetic, 5-10% of all cannabis plants are naturally hermaphrodites. If they were seeds from a hermie plants, they are...

A tall, floor-standing LED grow lamp that can be used as a regular living room lamp?

Are you just using it for light, or for growing? The problem is for growing it's fixed height, not adjustable.

Is this plant not getting enought light?

That is not a big light, but it’s sufficient for one plant. However at 100 watts that will not cover 2x3 adequately, that’s only about 17 watts per sq. ft.
