    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Thanks man! :blsmoke: Glad to get another round flowering, veg is so boring lol. Excited to dial in these LED's some more. The yield should be significantly better than last round since it's a full crop of Crescendo's, even if they are all different phenos.

    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Day 12 of 12/12: Things seem to be progressing nicely. The stretch is definitely more manageable than the last round since I raised the lights to 100% in veg and kept them closer to the canopy. I also went back to my brick coco because the bagged stuff I tried last round was full of salt and...

    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Day 1 of 12/12: Almost a month later these Crescendos are ready for flip. Not the most even canopy but this run should still be a huge improvement over last. I've gradually increased the lights to 100% and have them much closer to the canopy which should hopefully minimize stretch. The...

How much CFM for a 4x4x6 veg tent?

Well if you are in a very humid climate then limiting air exchange would be crucial in order for your dehu to properly do it’s job. Connecting your ventilation to a thermostat so that it only turns on when necessary to cool the room is your best bet. The only time this wouldn’t apply is if...

How much CFM for a 4x4x6 veg tent?

That should be fine. The only reason I could see you needing more is if you were running open hood HPS lights and were having trouble managing temps. What are your average temps? Do you have a dehumidifier as well or are you relying on intake/exhaust fans to control RH?

How much CFM for a 4x4x6 veg tent?

My 2.5x5 veg tent with ~ 400w has a 6” duct booster fan for exhaust and passive intake. The fan never goes above 30-40%. I don’t run a filter in veg though, only use those for flower. You definitely don’t need 400CFM for a 4x4 with 480w. It wouldn’t even allow your tent to get up to optimal...

Changing to LED, Optic 8+ questions

I don't mean to hate on the light at all, I'm sure it grows great plants. That being said, the Optic 8 is overpriced old tech just like Blackdog. Passively cooled lights have a much lower rate of failure. I'm not sure why companies think it's a good idea to enclose the drivers and rely on fans...

Using what i have to reduce start up costs.

Get 2 240w kingbrites instead of a 480w. They are cheaper and you can spread them out to get a better coverage. 480w is good for a 4x4. If you only want a 2x4 tent a single 240w is fine. My kingbrites have been going for a year now with no issues. I personally prefer a soiless medium like coco...

    Humidifier water

I just use RO water and clean the humidifier and replace filters regularly. My tap is hard (440 ppm) so it can cause mineral deposits to build up. I wouldn’t use any additives as they can be harmful to breathe and I wouldn’t want them on buds.

    HLG 350R

The QB 120's are another solid option, $120 for a 4-pack after code RIU10. Each board can run up to 70w and doesn't require heatsinks. https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/products/qb120-quantum-board...

    HLG 350R

It is extremely easy, a quick video can help a lot. It is as simple as clicking the +/- wires into the corresponding connectors. You can hang them individually by attaching some hangers to screws that thread into the side of the heatsinks or you can make a simple frame out of aluminum angle...

    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Going to do a quick flower of Crescendos while I wait for the seedlings to veg out so I can clone them. They are mixed phenos so not quite a monocrop but at least they will all finish around the same time. Just transplanted them into 3G today. Going to weave them through the screen over the next...

    Anyone using LED grow lights?

Having a light hung higher at a higher wattage achieves the same thing as a light dimmed and hanging closer to the plants. The plants can still receive the same amount of photons but you can save electricity having them dimmed. The deciding factor is how much square footage you need to cover...

Agromax Pure UV is another great option if you are considering Solacure. Fairly cheap and uses a standard T5 fixture which most growers have laying around.

CFL closet grow - considering LED

You definitely want adequate ventilation, it is crucial to good results. Something like an AC infinity axial fan or duct booster fan will work fine for your space and is relatively cheap and quiet. I use a 6” duct booster fan to cool my 2x5 veg tent, it comes with a speed controller which is...

DIY Design- First Build (input welcome)

You can usually run a bit above nominal and still be within acceptable temps depending on room temps, airflow, etc. Nominal is just a good guideline at which you can run without heat sinks with no issues. Especially with cheaper strips having a better spread of light and higher efficiency due to...

No, they are rated at 1.4A so 700ma is only 50% and would not require sinks.

    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Veg tent is rocking along pretty well. Finally got the top rack transplanted into 1 gallons. Going to do a run of the Crescendos while I wait for the for the bottom rack to veg out and clone. Bottom rack was just topped. Ignore my spider web of cords, I’ll clean it up once I get T5 on the...
