    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

Tdubb, You could change the system so buckets 1&10 are taking water from the reservoir and buckets 5&6 are plumbed to return the solution to the reservoir..You could make that return tube 3/4". With the extra pumping columns, and the same water not having to pass through all 10 buckets to get...

    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

I must admit I did drill the holes a little larger than they should have been in my first farms... Now that I've switched to baskets I have the same problem. The solution was to pick out the largest pieces of hydroton and layer the bottom of the basket with them... Even the smallest pieces don't...

Super Lemon Haze in a Phototron

Amber, check out my new desert adapted WF... https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/119479-waterfarm-mods-tips-21.html#post8886687 I don't know how to link a specific post, but I got the page.. I call it a Waterloo... Maybe this is the pimped out WF you're looking for...

    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

The WF is designed to pump water from the last bucket into the reservoir.. Not from the reservoir to the buckets. A gravity leveling system, such as 8 WFs can't handle the increased water volume of a water pump, not without changing the 1/2" tubing to a much larger size.. I only use air pumps so...

    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

To say this is a modified WF is stretching it a bit.. I'll only use the pumping column and hydroton.. Using an 5 gal igloo for a WF isn't the cheapest way to go, and this setup takes two. 25$ each at Chinamart. It adds about 4.5 gal to the 3.5 gal in the grow chamber for a total of 8, with about...

    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

The problem I had when using a stand along WF was with the hydroton. The small pcs. that fall into the bottom of the bucket. Some stay in suspension near the bottom, and when draining they plug and slow the flow of the water, almost stopping it. An air stone would almost guarantee a clog.. With...

    Turgid. How to get that?

SS1, Your gonna have to give up on the olive branch.. If he doesn't have a sense of humor you can't help him find it.. No matter your good intintions... I myself think he has one. The only problem is that it's lain flaccid for so long he can no longer get it up for civil, social intercourse...

    Turgid. How to get that?

I'm not learning anything here but it's a hoot. I mean, I'm engorged with laughter, to the point my mirth could only be described as turgid.

400w Northern Lights Waterfarm scrog! First grow :)

I posted this in another thread, here it is again,....Anyone that recommends not using the drip ring in a water farm, doesn't understand what happens in the hydroton... When you remove the drip ring, you stop dissolving oxygen in the water. The concentration of oxygen in the air and water are...

    dtw

Jorge Cervantes wrote an article for High Times, about 10 yrs ago, on a type of drain to waste in 2 gal nursery pots that watered from the bottom up, after the clones were well rooted. After they were rooted, the tray they were in was flooded an 1"-1-1/2" deep. When the tray dried up, they...

400w Northern Lights Waterfarm scrog! First grow :)

You listed some top-notch water farmers... Which one recommended shutting off the drip ring during a grow? I must have missed that when I followed their threads... :wall:

The pumping columns only need to be dropped into the 1-1/4" water column to work.. Of course they each need air. It's that simple. The water in the column is from the last container in line. It refills as fast as it's pumped out..

Need to circulate my DWC... how?

After I posted I realized it might not apply to the OP. Here's the WF recirculating setup.. It uses a single pumping column, permanently plumbed into the system. The WF pumping columns will always clog where the air enters the bottom of the column...

    Bubbleponics vs Waterfarm

They are great. This is the latest in a modified waterfarm... I think about wk 6.. Can't show you her bottom right now, but you can peek under her skirt when she's dead.... I showed you mine, show me yours....

Need to circulate my DWC... how?

This is what you need to do to increase the recirculating speed of the water. Remove the pumping column setup that goes in the reservoir. You need to install in its place a 1-1/4" stand pipe that ends above the surface of the water in the reservoir. Much like the one in this picture.. This...

    Bubbleponics vs Waterfarm

Anyone that recommends not using the drip ring, doesn't understand what happens in the hydroton... When you remove the drip ring, you stop dissolving oxygen in the water. The concentration of oxygen in the air and water are not the only factors which determine how much oxygen will be dissolved...
