    You're going to need at least 10k btu just for the "3000w" that isn't counting your square footage. I'd shoot for 15-20k btu unit to have some leeway either way.

    If you must grow on the cheap, at least look into the 9w A19 LED bulbs, take the globes off them and you'll do alright. They are much better than CFLs. Get yourself an even mix of 2700k and 4000k or higher bulbs. You can get them at any box store. Walmart, home Depot, etc. Often they are...

    Links? For fan speed control you could probably do a pwm output to a ssr as long as your fan is pwm controllable. I'm sure there are other options though.
