    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

The LEC puts off such beautiful light! You have to see it in person to appreciate it.

    LED help please

If it's for veg only why not use T5's? For $200 and a 4x4 its not really going to work

Kush on the COB: Growing Dank OG with Cree CXB

I like how you chopped up those extruded heatsinks. How are they handling the heat set up passively like that? Also how big are the blocks 5.88"x?

Cutter Electronics: Complete DIY COB kits

Great video! Rebuilt my L aluminum frame today. The 5 COBs were too far apart in my "H" configuration so I had to shrink it down. This time I spaced the 4 corner COBs 18" apart and again the 5th COB in the center. Spread is much better!

    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

Man it's been while. I'll have to see if I can find that one on KODI

    COB Talk

How about a thread just for chatting about COBs, drivers, mounting solutions. A place where people can ask questions, post COB porn and share ideas. Others behind us can read a thread just about COBs and get a lot of info in a single source. I'll throw up a first question, what do you think of...

Looks nice I like the cradle for the driver and you made end pieces too.

    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

Heat between LEC and LED are about the same. Keep in mind with LED's they may not produce a lot of heat but the driver gets smoking hot. Maybe place the driver near a fan in the winter

Cutter Electronics: Complete DIY COB kits

Nice studio set up! Any suggestions on "golden rule" of spacing between cobs? Also what about those of us using 5 cobs in an "H"configuration? From my measurements over 4 tomato cages using 5 cobs in an " H" configuration seems the four corner cobs 18" apart would put each cob in the center...

    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

What I like and has been mentioned here a few times is LEC's penetration compaired to cobs. +1 for LEC there Both are fun toys though

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

Those look cool and have long been a stable. Just trying to give the CFL Mercury guys another option. I'm rocking and loving 315 LEC and 3590 Cobs. I don't got much of a horse in the race here.

Thanks @BobCajun for contributing to this thread in a helpful way. Great find!

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

Seems like you just like to argue. More lumens per watt, it's that simple. If you remove the lense/cap the lumens will go up I never said by any certain amount. I didn't find these and I use $10 worth just passing on some info that may have been otherwise hidden. You keep saying I'm right but...

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

From Wikipedia CFLs produce less light later in their lives than when they are new. The light output decay is exponential, with the fastest losses being soon after the lamp is first used. By the end of their lives, CFLs can be expected to produce 70–80% of their original light output.[21] The...

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

What happens to the lumen output when I pop the cover off the GE bright Stik. I'm sure it's more than the stated amount. Who's winning now. Give it up CFL are dinosaurs. These little socket bulbs are not my thing. I personally run prefer cobs. Just trying to get info out to people here that...

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

The GE bulbs do not put out more lumens they put out less. They also use less watts. When you do the math you see that even though they put out less lumens, watt for watt you get more lumens ( 10 watts vs 13 watts). Outside of that I don't know how else to explain it to you. It's more efficient...

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

They are more efficient bulb for bulb. You get more lumens (everyone likes that), you will basically never have to replace them, (landfills like that) and they put off basically no heat (bonus for me I save on AC) Cost breakdown: 6 bright sticks = $20 6 CFL Phillips = $15 For $5 more if you...

    GE Bright Stik's VS CFL's

You get more lumens per watt. They are slightly more expensive, the 60 watt replacement bright Stik's are $10.97 for a three pack (think I paid 9.97) The Phillips 60 watt replacements are $10.97 for a four pack...
