    LED help please! lol

Fair enough man. I do hear what you say. I agree it's a much nicer finish with holders... I just wanted it to be known that it does work ok with TIM and tape. If you have ever tried to take a COB off a heatsink you will appreciate how well TIM holds them on! I know you have built your own...

    California Lightworks 550 control

Good point. I think it's possible to step up/down whatever voltage this thing outputs, but I honestly don't know how simple that is. I love that it has a touchscreen with plenty of screen real estate and a backup battery!

    California Lightworks 550 control

...thinking about it now, it seems like it should be possible to cheaply build a breakout cable that has RJ-11 on one end and bare wires on the other end so that this unit could be used to control HLGs for example.

    California Lightworks 550 control

Yeah I saw the RJ-11 connector on there and guessed that might be a problem. I like the fact it can be programmed for weeks and months to allow a seasonal shift!

    LED help please! lol

I just re-read this (slightly less high) and I can sense the animosity dude. If you don't like being corrected, just stick to commenting on things you have direct experience with. Too many stupid beefs around here for no reason. We all share this passion. Can't we all just get along? Peace and...

    California Lightworks 550 control

I'm looking for a cheap controller to do something like this... basically just want to ramp a few different channels of DIY LEDs throughout the daylight cycle. Have been waiting on a member here designing an arduino system, but I sometimes doubt whether that will ever be finished (no disrespect...

    LED help please! lol

Well it is ok so maybe you're the one with the attitude dude. Just because not everyone does things your way doesn't mean they're wrong. We all have different circumstances and we make the best of what we have. Relax and smoke a fatty man. Peace

    LED help please! lol

Except it's not really a tremendous amount of heat... only about 20W per. Kapton and TIM can handle it. Think whatever you want to think about it, I just wanted it to be on record that many people have done it and it works just fine longterm. Peace

    LED help please! lol

Kapton tape works just fine FYI. The thermal paste actually does most of the work.

    The far red thread

Yep I reckon you will see a lot of stretch with that schedule. On a similar note I've read that how you transition between veg and bloom affects the stretch. Apparently if you just throw the plants straight from 18/6 to 12/12 without any kind of ramping that induces more stretch. I cannot...

    The far red thread

If you are doing 2 hours of Far Red at lights off; then in reality you are actually running lights 16hrs on and then only 8 off. I think you will see a delay in the onset of flowering and crazy stretch using this schedule. You see Far Red also influences Shade Avoidance response, so with 2 hours...

    Twist's Tropical Indoor Garden

A little update since I'm chopping the Berry White (and lone Lemon Skunk) in the Flower Cab today. Had the first signs of Botrytis about a week ago (at <7 weeks). I managed to keep them going for another week by lowering the humidity. They are at 8 weeks today which is the earliest I've...

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

Hey Cobby did you ever order those 3618's? I've got a friend who wants to buy 3618 light engines and the more I think about it the more I think they are gonna be a hot ticket item. Two of them per HLG-320 at 1.4A seems like it should come in somewhere around a dollar per watt, and that is not...

On/Off functin for meanwell HLG style drivers using dimming and arduino

Yeah it really seems like this should be possible if it has a battery inside. The UPS option could work as long as the controller can be the only thing powered by the UPS (and not the actual lights) cos otherwise the UPS ain't gonna last long.

Yeah who is it? ...I have my suspicions, since he talks in exactly the same tone as a well known troll here.

On/Off functin for meanwell HLG style drivers using dimming and arduino

Also I would like to add that I (and I think others) are looking for a plug and play solution here. It would seem prudent to include everything in the package that a person would need to dim 100% with 10v dimming instead of 5v to 50%. my 2cents

On/Off functin for meanwell HLG style drivers using dimming and arduino

I have the same concerns as @sixstring2112. To say that you just need to reset the clock when there is a powercut does not really work for me, as it happens almost every day. That would mean I would have to check it every day and I would never be able to go away and leave it. Is there not a more...

He doesn't grow so none of this even matters lol. Just another troll trying to get some attention.... we get a lot of them here. I think if we ignore him for long enough he will go away.

I'm not talking about science, I'm talking about the condescending tone in your posts.
