Your going to do the tray style ebb n flow you really only need a 15 minute interval timer or a digital one. Have your overflow set at the height you want and wheb it turns off the fill piece will basically drain it all back into the rez. No need for a bucket like this

Shit i cant find any good ebb n flow systems locally for less then 600 and there all duel timer setups all crap. I decided to make mine because i didnt wanna have to have a system like that delivered. I live in the city and neighbors are always watching lol

I Dont use 1/2 i use 3/4 but i do use half between the rez and the controller bucket. You wont see a difference filling the system with a 3/4 inch line. The buckets all have 3/4" hose because gravity allows the water to flow quicker. Also 55 gallon drums wont cost you more then 50 for a brand...
