    Guide me to the Light....

Ah mark, I have my sketch ready to go. I waited up til 5am bud and sent you messages on the site and a pm over here. We arranged to meet up midnight my time 9am yours. I'm ready to roll with my order. Should I just send the sketch to the admin email on the cutter site? Edit: I'll send it now...

Nice one. And is it generally better to use a lower voltage driver? I had a quote recently for boards which needed 180-220v When I asked for the voltage to be lowered like you suggested, he told me that although he could do it, the bars would run cooler at the higher voltage. Why is that?

Question about drivers... What does the A/B mean at the end of the part number? What's the difference between these two HLG-480H-48 HLG-480-42B Cheers

I hear you and it makes a good bit of sense tbf. Can't get hold of Mark on the site at the moment tho 2 Questions. I don't know which bulb you used, but I've got the Philips Agro and use that for veg and flower. I'll be honest, IMO it's the best veg light you can use for structure and side...

    Guide me to the Light....

Yea, I've mentioned this to a few people. I was wondering what the catch was. Seems like just the most common sense thing to do when you consider how hard it is for a lot of people who don't know where to start. It does, and it's the very last obstacle in my decision really. I'll have a chat...

Makes sense. So the pr boost strips for example, don't lose much efficiency by adding the cree xpg3 for deep red to boost the spectrum. What's the thinking on the 730nm chips, and in particular the emerson effect. There are a lot of strips with just the 660 chips added. Is it worth getting the...

So at what point is the trade off between those things a negative? I mean is there a way to counter this so they could be used as main fixtures, Or would we always be better adding a different spectrum to a more efficient broad range diode?

    Guide me to the Light....

Sorry thought I'd said. 480w per fixture. Probably run at closer to 450

From what I've read, parallel seems the safest option and so that's the way I think I'll go. Ideally I want to cover a 1m width with about 6 (give or take) bars of light. They'll be 2 strips connected on one sink. so 12 altogether. Like I say that number is flexible

Now, how do I match up the strips with the driver?

While we're on the subject.. Can I ask , how does the R2T strip run at 80w without sinking?

    Guide me to the Light....

Don't mind doing that at all. If you've got any links to a good source fire away

    Guide me to the Light....

Possibly, I wouldn't know. But on a 480w driver over 16 strips, I'm never gonna find out eh?

    Guide me to the Light....

No I never, would have helped me a lot over the last few days tbh. Sods law

    Guide me to the Light....

From the cutter site with 500ma for 25 watt operation recommended drive current with minimal heat sinking, at 1amp, 50 watt, would recommend good quality thermal bed, Cooler or Aluminium Sheet so 16 of these at 25w runs me at 400W which is about where I'd like to be Driver maxed out at 480w...

    Guide me to the Light....

@Airwalker16 Fair enough, but then I lose part of the point of the build, which is to allow heat to rise and escape between the strips and ventilate directly out of the room

The original kit uses 16 strips. I was hoping to get away with just some aluminium sheet Thoughts on that?
