Quick question about lowering ph and vinegar

No worries... yes, a PPM meter is a nice tool to have for any kind of hydro grow. Check out eseasongear online to get the milwalkee PH and PPM meters for around $20 - not top of the line, but they work. It's hard to say about the bottled water - if it's spring, it could have a bunch of...

    An Idiot's Guide to Hempy

Cool - hopefully JapanFreak will get one going... I guess I could post the one I've almost finished... but with the warning that I've been trying out the "stoner proof" theory... the plants look ragged, but the buds are sweeeet.

My soil drains too good, its kinda a problem!

You could always use a mix like that in a hempy bucket.

Quick question about lowering ph and vinegar

Yes, you can use vinegar, but it's not as stable and adds more EC than other options. If you want real cheap PH down, use battery acid... carefully. One tub of GH dry PH down will last a lifetime too... the key is adding as little as possible of whatever you are using so you don't raise the...

    An Idiot's Guide to Hempy

DocBud was the guy who introduced it to me... and he's got some amazing buds out of it. Irishboy and Setting Sun are both doing grows with Controlled Release (CRF) OC+ and Time Release (TRF) DM Red and Purple in hempy buckets, and both are rocking it - Sun's plants look perfect, and while...

Thanks man... yeah, Rob's not quite what he thinks he is... but he's got to live with himself, not me, so I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

    An Idiot's Guide to Hempy

Pretty work JapanFreak - well done intro to Hempy. I used all perlite with my current grow, but I'm going to add a bunch of Coco Coir next time to help retain more of the CRF I've been using - have you seen the grows using Osmocote + temp release nutes or DM red time release nutes? Pretty...

    watering plants with coffee?

Coffee is not a bad substitute for PH down; I've tested used grounds from one pot of coffee, and they lower the PH of a hempy bucket watered with R/O water to 5.8 for two waterings before they lose the effect. Lots of gardeners put used grounds directly around acid loving plants... got nitrogen...
