You're probably ok. I let my Kessil get inside a foot and it bleached. The lightstream is more concentrated, but I wouldn't let yours get inside 6" or so.

Too close and it will bleach foliage from light intensity, not heat.

Who said it was bs? I clearly stated that heat degrades LEDs. What isn't clear is the difference in heat degradation between the two lights discussed. There might be very little difference. Until that is established, this argument is just silly. Are we speaking the same language?

Blackstars do have fans, after all. Haight panels don't even have fans to disperse heat. But someone should take the temprature of these lights and lay this to rest. Heat does shorten the life of LEDs, but this discussion has nothing really to go on. The talk of heatsinks reminds me of the...

Yeah, it figures. After what you say, it's sort of surprising to read such a glowing review. Can't argue with the genetics, though. Same sort of deal with God Bud, some say it's spectacular, some say it's just ok.

The hanging Kessil and the 1ft min distance from foliage will take care of most of 20". So, whatever room is left is what you'll have to grow with. A short space isn't well suited to Kessils. Get some decent flat panels, or something.
