I understand, you're working with what you got. No problem with that. I have just never done that method because I bought a bottle of the thuricide in ..well around the year 2000. and I still have it and it still does the trick. Money well spent.

This is different than drying out the medium, as this is a drench. Just make sure to not over water when treating the gnats. I'm not sure on the peroxide solution I always use this method. a little goes a long way. gl 2 you

Hi rayray. I have stuff called thuricide. that you add to the water and it kills the larvae. You can also use mosquito traps. they contain the same benificial bacteria. I will look up the name, but that has always worked. That along with spraying the safe gardening spray to kill the adults...

It won't hurt anything to put some more dirt around the stem for support. Don't pack it in too tight.

roots like oxygen not co2. Later on though you could mist them with carbonated water for them to take in the co2 from the leaves.
