    Commercial garden nutrients

I think a lot of commercial growers are looking to take the hassle out of feeding so they can spend more time caring for their plants. I've seen a plethora of bigger growers installing Dosatron systems and a lot have moved over to veg bloom who sell a Dosatron 2 part solution. They then just...

Looking for help with a cloning device for 20 clones

Some brands you can look at are EZ clone, TurboKlone, power cloner, super sprouter aqua clone, oxyclone and clone King. They all come in very different prices. Personally I just use a normal dome keep the humidity high, the tray warm and use rockwool

Do you have a budget for something a little more expensive or do you want to DIY it?

    The perpetual grow

10oz per plant for four plants under a 600W HPS? That's a terrific grow if you're getting close to 2 grams per watt. Congrats

    4000w 2.4x2.4m SCROG

I've seen those before. If your using a portable I think the highest they do is 16k BTU which will be a little light for your setup as I find portables don't work as well as split units

    4000w 2.4x2.4m SCROG

Plants are looking good. What power AC are you using that struggling to keep up with your heat issues?

Are these seedlings close enough to the light?

With T5's the recommended height is a foot or closer. I think you'll find that the plants will still grow but it won't be as efficiently as it should and you will get stretching between the internodes which you will want to avoid. Just put the box on something to cut the he

    Solution to Smart Pot issue

If you're looking for a cheap solution you get these plastic or rubber duckboards. Just cut them up to the right size. They're just interlocking strips of plastic or rubber that can come in really big sheets, that are elevated to about 1-2 cm and let water drain down through them.

    Rockwool Clone help..

Don't buy a cheap pen or you may run into problems. Had a Hannah for a couple of years and worked fine and now use a blue lab one that I haven't had any problems with. Just treat them well, keep them clean, calibrate them from time to time and keep a replacement probe.

    Rockwool Clone help..

Like all things with manufacturing you get different results. Grodan products have always been very consistent for me so I stick with them but Cultilene is still a decent brand and you shouldn't have any problems with them, there just not as big a company. You'll find cubes out of the box tend...

How many times do I water with this set up?

Do you measure the amount of run off you get from the bottom of the pots? A good little test is to put a drip stake in a measuring jug to see how much each plant is getting per feeding. Also see if you can raise one of your pots put it on a plastic grid with a container under it and see how...

    Rockwool Clone help..

Cutilene are decent rockwool cubes from Holland at a very good price though I prefer the Grodan/Pargro range. Problem is they're a pain to get Grodan in SA and many stores charge an arm and a leg(saw guys selling the 6" blocks for R120-R135 when they go for R25 in the US). Preparing your...

    Rockwool Clone help..

Just a few questions. DO you soak your rockwool in ph adjusted water before use? Also what rockwool do you use? I know that in SA a few hydro shops sell some dodgy brand rockwool. Do you monitor your humidity in the dome? Check out your clone gel expiry date, a friend in Jozi found his had...

"I think I vegged too long..." - A first timers grow

Healthy looking plants. I think a lot of growers make the mistake that their plants won't grow much when they switch them to flowering when in fact they tend to gain more height then they do through veg. I would just trim down the bottom part of the plant and do some bending to keep the canopy...

    Warehouse Supplies

For lighting, if money isn't a problem then the two I would probably look at are the DimLux Expert Series 630W CMH and the Fluence engineering LED's like the VYPR plus and SPYDR plus. Read very good things about both and the specs look great but they're both pretty damn expensive and only...

    Gavita pro 1000??

It's light intensity on the Gavita's. I had a friend who tested it out and he kept his canopy temps at about 75F and the Gavita at about 2 feet above the canopy and it was too much for his strain. He found a little over 3'(1 meter) worked perfectly. if you stack them in rows the overlap means...

Question: Indoor Warehouse Grow vs. Growing in a Greenhouse?

Indoor will always get you more harvest per year whereas a greenhouse will get you mammoth plants with lower costs. I think the major thing is what sort of market are you supplying? For a lot of folks indoor is the way to go because you get a constant year long supply which is great for the...
