My plants aren't very sturdy in their 10 gallon totes and 6" net pots w/ hydroton

Yea I had to learn quick with the totes unless you get bigger net pots to make plants more stable, grow them short and lollipop for main colas. Or something I have yet to do. Buy the stakes that you would put in dirt(stainless steel or plastic), then drill holes in the lid and insert. Tie...

    problems with first hydro grow

I'm no rocket scientist, and all my information is from learning through my own experiences and discussing things with people here on RIU, BUT 1300 ppm is waaaaaaay too high for a four week old plant. You never gave that baby a chance to veg properly you are just shocking it through life...

    My First Hydroponic Grow

Well running a sterile set up is simply to have everything clean and keeping organic matter from getting in your res(i.e. leaves, dirt, bacteria). Basically what you are doing now but maybe adding a dose of Hydrogen peroxide every now and then to keep any bacteria from forming on your roots...

Sulfur Burn for entire basement before starting new grow, preventative... thoughts?

So many strains have been created to be naturally resistant... I would also look into that since you have taken every other measure. Good Luck man!!!:joint:

    My First Hydroponic Grow

If you wait a full 2 weeks or 14 days you may notice some leaf damage which is an indicator of nutrient deficiency because the roots in the water are constantly pulling out what they need. Some people never change the solution and just add more water and or nutrients when needed, but trust me...

    My First Hydroponic Grow

you could have your water lines just go to the bottoms of each net pot instead of having them on top and being all in the way. You should also have a ph at 5.8 in hydro. I keep mine between 5.8-6.1. Thats the sweet spot that gives your plants the most nutrients in Hydro. As far as your PH flux...

how can i eliminate powdery mildew in my grow?

your best bet is a cheap dehumidifier in the tent. I had the same problem before and considered a sulfur burner but instead got an ozone emitter which worked fine but then I started reading about the effects of ozone and got paranoid. Once I put a dehumidifier in my room I never saw the mildew...

    how often to flush hydro?

/\This here... is why people dont learn. Get a power grower and see for yourself is all I'm gonna say. My plants were never skimpy and sick but then again I have a quality strain. As for calling me a clown and what not shows your maturity level. A power grower is equal parts media and water by...

    how often to flush hydro?

The media keeps the bacteria from reaching the res and other harmful organic matter such as algae. The media keeps the roots with enough oxygen to thrive even if the res temps are too high and the water is not getting enough oxygen. Explained in detail= if the res develops some sort of bacterial...

    how often to flush hydro?

Your not gonna get a low ppm if you are reading instructions on the bottle which most novice growers do... Power growers never have root problems simply because the media cleans the solution before it recylces back to the res. Power growers can have 100 degrees temp in res and would still do fine..

    how often to flush hydro?

Well since you want to be a DICK. You need to flush especially if your using Hydroton. I never flushed and re used my hydroton after only rinsing with water. Then I saw Ph fluctuations from 5.8 to 4.3 with normal use of GH nutes in a power grower. Not only should he flush he should make sure he...

    how often to flush hydro?

I agree, flushing is not mandatory, but until you get dialed in and stop using the charts on the bottles or even suggestions your buddies say about feed schedule you should take the precaution because salts are going to build up and your medium is basically a fluctuation waiting to happen. Just...
