    carbon filter needed really bad.

Hard ducting lines are great. Luckily my tent is literally right next to a window that i have styrofoam foamed into with a hole cut out of the ducting. So it's just a slight bend, 2 feet of ducting, and out the window. The floor or the ceiling is great for running your exhaust. I just cant in...

Yeah just responded to your PM. I would frankly prefer the 240h-36a anyways. QBs dont thermal runaway. And parallel is just easier and more convenient. Arguably safer even since the voltage is usually too low to be able to pass through your skin.

    carbon filter needed really bad.

It has something to do with drag. Like there's less drag if you suck in the filter and through the fan. But if you blow out the filter, the fan has to push the air all the way to the filter and out of the little mesh holes in the filter, which creates more drag. It's just easier for a fan to...

You in the US? Arrow does free 1 day shipping for orders over $50. Pretty dank if you ask me. Dunno how they afford to do that, but they do it!

    Cheapest High Quality/Efficiency COB build?

Check my sig. Or go to ledgardener.com. The f series build in my sig is 320 watts. im using in a 3x3 tent. Good PPFD, good PPF, efficient, and if you look at the PPFD map above it is unbelievably uniform and even. You could squeeze things around a lil and do it for closer to $300. It wont be...

    Cheapest High Quality/Efficiency COB build?

You're 100% right on the lack of color choices for strips. I want 90 cri strips! 2700k would be cool to see too. But what do you mean about the size of the strip being a disadvantage? I think the whole appeal, and why strips provide great uniformity, is their form factor. You can do a lot with...

    The klx Way!

Very nice. Ill have to keep that in mind. I dont wanna give up my humic acids/kelp/microbes quite yet, but if I have a vacation planned ahead ill maybe give sterile a try as I am thinking of swapping to coco my next grow. Used to do coco with drip system a couple of years ago and its how I first...

    carbon filter needed really bad.

Lol a 6" filter isnt really much wider than a 4" one. I am looking at my 6x16" filter and my old 4x12" filter right now and the 6" filter is only 3-4 inches wider.. It's mostly just longer.. And length is obviously not an issue if you look at my pic. And my 6" vortex S line is smaller than my...

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

I grew under a "300w" galaxyhydro (really 130w) that had this crazy ass spectrum Pulled 1.3 grams per watt under it my last grow I did with it. So about 170 grams dried. Here's the plant (strain was fruity chronic juice). The yield includes 1/3 of the double alien 18 i had in the middle...

    carbon filter needed really bad.

Fan on the right side next to the sock in the tent, filter on the left side connected via a straight line of ducting. Or vice versa. This is to balance the weight. The 5 feet of height you get in a 2x4 is not fun. Especially when your filter and fan take up a solid foot of it. Glad i got rid of...

    Just pulled the trigger....

Yeah i think that's the issue. I think nfhiggs said you can just use a sharpie and make a black spot on the aluminum and it should work with the Ir gun though. Ill do that and report back. It's weird that the Ir gun seems to measure the driver perfectly (which is alum) but the heatsinks are...

    Just pulled the trigger....

Hmm interesting. i am using an Ir gun to take temps though, not an actual probe or anything. But i wonder if my friends are so hot because they're double row? But i feel like with 2" U frame like he is using would be the same as single row strips with 1"? Do you have a fan blowing on them? I...

    carbon filter needed really bad.

I disagree. And odds are you'll want to upgrade from a 2x4 at some point (i disliked the height of a 2x4x5 a lot). I follow the logic @Cold$moke mentioned. It's better to get a bigger fan for only like $10-20 more and have extra CFM to play with in case you realize your lights are hotter than u...

    Just pulled the trigger....

Yeah I paid $5-6 per heatsink to cool my strips. 24" long 1" wide. Works a good bit better than U frame for not much extra cost. Lower profile too for thinner/sleeker look. My strips @ 75% max current (2 foot single rows) get to 50c after a day. My friends strips using U frame (4 foot dbl...

    Cheapest High Quality/Efficiency COB build?

I dont use cobs. Just an obervation ive made over the last couple years :) Evenly distrubuted light is far less stressful to the plant. The plants will handle higher PPFD levels without bleaching/stressing. Assaulting the top layer of the canopy with a low number of high wattage COBs is bad...
