What kind of carbon filter is it exactly? I have a 6"x16" Phresh filter and two plants going and it works very well for me. It may just be that you bought a cheap carbon filter and need to upgrade it to a better one.

It sounds like you planted your seed upside down. The tap root points down in the soil. I hope I read that correctly.

I totally disagree. 3x3=400w, 4x4=600w. Go higher than that with a 600w in a 4x4 and you will run into a lot of heat.

I would go with a 400w light for your space. I think if you go with a 600w, you will really have too many problems with heat. Good luck.

I found the link for you where I bought it. Here you go: Variac. For speed control, this is the best way to go. Also, while I have no personal experience, I hear good things about the Sunleaves inline fan. You may want to look further into it for a quiet fan.

I totally agree with rosecitypapa. I have a Variac and it's the best at what it does. No hum at all. It is a transformer, so it won't keep turning your fan on/off to reduce your speed and it keeps the life of a fan. I can give you a link if you are interested. It was about $50bucks if I remember...

That tent is really made for a 600w light, but you can probably get away with a 1000w light. Not sure how much of a heat problem you will have tho, but you will have a lot of heat in that size tent.
