    Defoliation, a scientific approach...

Indoors and outdoors, although I have never done a side by side outdoors I still do the same defoliation. No I don't grow sog, I do 4-5 plants in 10g pots per 1000w light over a 4x4 area, and veg for 4 weeks. No journal with a side by side, this was a while ago

Im with you on this. I think it does more harm then good switching mh at the end of flower

    Your thoughts on defoliation?

I would say just personal preference. Every one I know including my self just does it in flower, but its definitely not going to kill your plants or anything. Just do it slowly, don't do too much until your comfortable with it and you know what works best for you. I just don't see any benefits...

Potassium Silicate and Co2 Pads, enough for 90 degree temps?

A 1000w is good for a 4x4 area. Any thing smaller than that is just over kill. With temps that high co2 and silicate isn't going to be enough to counter the heat. You definitely just need to lower your heat, professor gave you some good tips.

    Your thoughts on defoliation?

I dont do any during veg. I only do it to open up the canopy to allow light into it to hit more bud sites. I feel it slows the veg time down a little bit and doesn't have much benefits. Just my opinion

    Sealed system design...

In a set up like that I would definitely be running a veg room. Then you could be harvesting every 8-9 weeks depending on strain. Just my opinion, with a large space figured you would want to maximize harvest after an expensive set up cost and high electric bills. Imo 1000w DE are the only way...

    Defoliation, a scientific approach...

Yea I like to top as well. I top 3 days after transplant from cubes, then about every 7-10 days after that and I wait about a week from last topping before I flip to flower. Normally top 3 times indoors, sometimes more if I'm running multiple strains and some are getting too tall and I want the...

    Your thoughts on defoliation?

Im all for defoliation. I just posted this in a similar thread but I will re post here... I personally like to defoliate. Once I flip to flower, I do all my lowers on the plant (normally around 1/4-1/3 of the plant depending on strain. After they stretch for a couple weeks I will go in and...

    Sealed system design...

If this were my space 1. I would definitely use 1000s. You will be way happier and get a higher yield. Everyone I know with large spaces including my self use 1000s. Its the way to go for sure. 1000w DE is killing it in warehouse right now. As far as AC size, I calculate mine by 3-4k btu per...

    Different wattages and distance?

1000s will get you a better yield for sure. Just use air cooled so you can get the lights closer to the plants and control the heat easier

    Defoliation, a scientific approach...

I personally like to defoliate. Once I flip to flower, I do all my lowers on the plant (normally around 1/4-1/3 of the plant depending on strain. After they stretch for a couple weeks I will go in and clean up the lowers one more time. At about week 3-4 of flower, I will start to remove a few of...

1st off, sorry, redundant question.Check PH with HM TDS EZ meter

No problem dude, I personally use blue lab guardians in all my rooms. They do ph/ec,tds,ppm/temp all in one. Also have a connect feature that will send all this data to your computer for analysis. Totally worth it if you have a decent sized setup. If you just want a ph pen, blue lab makes a good...

    Need help setting up

The pot size you want to do just depends on how many plants and how long of a veg time you want. Larger pots, longer veg time, less plants. Smaller pots, shorter veg, more plants.

    expericaned advice???

All depends on pot size and veg time. I do 4-5 plants per 1000w light over a 4x4 area in 10g pots, veg for 3-4 weeks depending on strain. You can do 8-10 plants in 5 gallons and veg for 2 weeks or 16-20 plants in 2 gallons and veg for a week. Its all personal preference. I personally like a...
