If you do decide to use carbs in hydro make sure it isn't molasses or cane sugar. Will make for a stanky mess in your Rez. Dextrose and Xylosse are the carbs I found most effective in hydro.

IMO carbs are good for soil and hydro that is using beneficial bacteria. If your running simple salts (95% of hydro nutes) it isn't worth it.

The cause is the ballast searching for a frequency that is not in use in your house. When it finds that frequency, the loud pitch noise stops. No damage will be done to bulbs. But better safe than sorry.

Probably a newer model ballast that let's you choose your watts. My solis tek matrix can do a 400w,600w or 1000w. Hps or mh. You can use the solis boost for an extra 5% giving you the 420, 630 and 1050w settings.
