yes they are more energy efficient, thats why they dont run as hot. but like it said in my post before, your not billed on how efficient your device is on electricity. your billed on how much power it uses. BUT it is certainly more energy efficient then a magnetic ballast.

i do 4 plants under a 1000w a/c HPS. I use to do 6 but after i dropped down to 4 plants i yield about 5 more ounces.its all about your space. plants need room to grow.

i run super soil and not only do i run my water through a dechlorinator, i let it sit in the resevoir for a few days with an air stone going. seems to work good to me.

try digilux, i have a 1000w and 600w Hps bulbs and havent had a problem. i too run lumatek ballasts. plus the 1000w bulb puts out 155,000 lumens.
