I've used Miracle Grow 12-4-8 on these 4 month old plants with no ill effects, but I agree that you have to be careful. These just started flowering a week ago and are 6.5' to a little over 7' high

Would probably depend on whether you're inside, or outside? If you're outside with our short growing season I'd think short flower time and hardiness would be top criteria. Most growers say autos are pretty finicky and to stick with photo period. An IBL strain would also be preferred over some...

You could possibly try water curing it to remove the odor and taste.
