do you know what kind of pepper it was? I know of a couple peppers that have to be grown in the shade to fruit.

some i did with paper towel method, others right into soil. I seem to have good success either way.

im just lucky i know a couple people close to me that are into rare peppers too. If you have a facebook you can just about any pepper your looking for. Fatalii.net, rareseeds.com, fordsfeiryfoodsandplants.com , those are 3 reputable sites for pepper seeds.

The black prince and Bolivian Rainbow(purple ones), i got localy from a guy at the farmers market, they were seeds. If you want some pods from either or, and try growing those out let me know. I havent tried to clone them yet but maybe i can get on that.

My boi ran both of those strains recently, the sage and sour came out just like what the pics look like when thseeds advertise them. it yeilded nicely, and the smell was a diff type of sour, not like a nycd or sour d. the cotton candy yeilded very good as well...but everyone that tried it liked...

thats as much of the roots as i could fit in the pic, goes about another 12" past just not as thick. some issue i think iron and something else, i think from the high ph. And Im starting to think the high ph 7.8-8 is from my source water having to much calcium carbonates, i have to adjust the ph...

Its into flower now, about 2 weeks in. seems to be doing fine, stacking nodes and plenty of pistils. will post some pics later.

was thinking about trying some Ollas( unglazed ceramic jars) for the summer, you just burry them leaving just the rim above ground and fill them up with water and plant your plants next to them like autowatering.

lol you start them inside,i start popping around mid dec for the peppers, and this year we never had a winter so i put them outside early. i had a underground greenhouse i had just 1 pepper plant overwintering.i will def be keeping some more around this year. i am going to get on the compost...

first couple are aprils fools peppers, quadrino pepper, and a new hybrid pepper which is the bolivian rainbow crossed with trinidad scorpion. and it was made locally. it was just sent to the local college for scoville testing.

glad to see another Scorp Pepper growing. The plant in front is mine. This one is hopefully going to fruit, I have more, they are just smaller.
