I've read that colder temps at night, as in a significant drop in temperature from day to night time, causes the cannabis plant to respond by turning stalks and stems purple :) Nothing to worry about, as long as your plant is still perky and growing

I tie mine in a circular pattern around the pot starting with the main stalk. Then I tie the side budside branches are the pot on the opposite side of where the main branch is headed, that way I have an even canopy and it totally increases overall yield!
