    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Those more knowledgable can correct me, but I've heard that HID has a negligible amount of UV? Metal Halide more than HPS, but even so, if you truly want a notable, repeatable boost for potency and flavor, would you not decide to supplement with a UV bulb anyway?

    Excellent clarification, as always.

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

See, that's my thing too. I don't doubt that UV can increase cannabinoids and terpenes, but I have no need for that, as what I'm growing is every bit as good as the stuff I used to buy from the dispensary. Now I'm aware that some of that could be placebo caused by confirmation bias, but even if...

    Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

So you figure 70% is closer than 60%? Seems a lot of peeps 'round these parts have that success at around 60%. But then again, perhaps that just means they could have done better with HPS!

Just bought my Model 48SAMS from Timber can't wait to join the big boys.

Brother @Randomblame isn't talking down to you, friend. If I recall correctly, English isn't his first language, so sometimes people take him the wrong way, but he's truly one of the most helpful and friendly members on this forum.

I'm with you. Wet trimming is waaaaay less hassle, and I don't notice the quality difference that a lot of the dry trimmers talk about.

    Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

I would shoot for 600 watts of LED in a 4x4. The greater yield under equivalent power is due to the fact that you're actually getting more light for your watts with LED. If you get the right LED, it will be considerably more efficient than HPS, which means less of your wattage is waste-heat...

    Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

It's an approximation. In general, when switching to LED, most folks seem to shoot for about 60% of their previous HPS wattage. At 750w, you'd be a little over that (for good measure). This also assumes that the LED fixture in question is appropriately configured for maximum uniformity.

What would make you lean toward a 4x4? With that much power, you might as well give it more space!

    Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

We've seen almost 2 grams per watt under LED, so it's feasible to hit 3+ lbs from less than 800w. Difficult, I'm sure, but feasible. Again, the space is the limiting factor, not the type of light. The question posed by this thread is the wrong question. It's not whether 3 lbs can be pulled by...

    Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

This is more a space issue than a lighting issue. There's nothing magical about a DE Gavita. It's all about the amount of usable light hitting the plants, and it's simply a fact that modern white-light LEDs (quality COBs/boards/strips - we're not talking about blurples here) are more efficient...

    QB132’s (x15) in a 4x4... 1050w LED light platform

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you (and I know you don't). While it's true that you could have adequately lit that space with far less power - and I highly doubt you'll end up using anything close to 1,050w - you now have a fixture that is capable of being run more efficiently than most of the...

LED grow from start to finish

2x300w or 1x600w VIPARSPECTRA LED lighting for 2-3 plants

On average, when replacing HPS with quality white-light COBs/boards/strips, shoot for around 60% of the wattage. Edit: this is presuming you're replacing an HPS that was appropriately matched to the size of the grow space in the first place.

LEDs to supplement my 315wLEC in 4x4

I wouldn't add that much light if you're running the 315. I think you'd be better off with your original idea of four COBs, in the corners. Four strips around the perimeter would probably be even better.

Do LED (QB boards) cause less stretching & generate more frost than HPS?

Four dual-board kits would be an awful lot of light. What size is your space?
