I can say this I have a 1000w HPS cooled by one 8 inch, 500cfm, inline fan with insulated ducting and i can hold my hand on the glass everywhere except directly under the bulb. Make sure you suck air through the light, not blow it.

Bought a 73 micron bubble bag off Ebay for $20. Just need some dry ice and I am gonna make some hash. :-P Really hoping this method makes a more potent product than last time. The screen I used last time was for making t shirts and worked ok, but I want better than ok so gonna try this route.

I dont do much if any PH checking either but grow in hydro with r/o water. The only time it ever seemed to be a problem is when I was testing it. The plants I have going in my signature have never had the PH checked and look great imo.
