get the 6 inch. i run one through 2 400w hps. i have a 4*3 area with a pasive intake as well. the 475cfm fan keeps the light cool enough while another fan circulates the fan. and i do run my 475 cfm fan through a carbon filter.

there is a regulator you can get to lower the cfm on your fan by reducing wattage. it will make it a little more quiet. i have one on a 475cfm fan in a 3x4 tent. and it also helps me control the temp with wheather changes.

no way close at all! you could suplement with floro's. or use them for vegging. but you wont get the intensity like a HID.

you can also build a box for the fan, stuff it with insulation and leave 2 ports for for your vent hose. then hang it with bungie cords. that will reduse the noise.

i know the longer you veg the more yield to each plant. my current grow i only vegged 2 weeks. my last grow i vegged for 4 weeks. thats about the longest i have vegged. what does everyone use for there veg time. soil/hydro?

what size light are you using and hoe close to the plants is it?
