Well, the leaves have to have resin on them in order to make hash, but yes its up to you on how much bud you want to throw in with the trim (sugar leaf, bud leaf). I use buds that wont pack a full bowl when they dry. Anything smaller than a bowl is hash.

Holy shit, nice blue dream. Thats strange your yield was so small. Mine look like yours did at harvest and they have more than 50 days left of flower. Don't have those elongated capitate trichs either. Mine seem smaller. These pictures were around day 21 ish.
