They do eat stuff in the soil and leave worm castings behind which the plants love. Not to mention they dig aeration/drainage holes constantly through the soil. If they die, they are an instant fertilizer stick! lol.

I've been having low humidity issues, that can cause curling. If you're in my part of the country, it might be something to look into.

Never tried DWC or a tent, but I figure if you like DWC, then that's what perhaps you should think about first.

Will your ballast work also with a HPS? If so, they do tend to put out more light. Meanwhile, I'd go up to a 600 watt, maybe use the 400 in trade? If money is ok, keep it for a backup or future expansion. If DWC is what you're good at, then do that.

They don't stink yet, so why not take them with you? Just prepare them to deal with the weather. Might be a good idea to get an indoor/outdoor thermometer so you can monitor them during transport. Expect high humidity.
