Fixing root rot: Hydroguard v Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide

It's so tough to say. I know exactly where you're coming from. I've gone from seeing what looked like the path of recovery to being to completely eaten up by rot shortly after. Bennies certainly won't hurt though. But maybe try to think about the source of why it survives, spreads and etc...

Mine was way, way worse than that. In fact my mothers still are. You still have hope lol. Bottom line is you need to try something different than what you're doing right now.

For myself I had to right click on the image and "copy image address" for the right thing to work in the "image" button here.

Pics aren't working. Took me a few times as well lol. K I'll snap/post some more pics tomorrow. Based on what I'm seeing this evening I'm starting to think providing more oxygen to my roots might of been the key for myself. Everyone's situation is different though so you may need to fart...

Also just want to drop a quick reminder about not dumping bennies in with sterile. It's one or the other.

Fixing root rot: Hydroguard v Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide

Oh dude, don't make any decisions based on my results lol. My results have been massively mixed so far to say the least and I'm still in mid battle tbh. With that being said if you're battling root rot than you obviously need to try something. Try the sag and see if it works. If it doesn't...

So just went downstairs to check in on my veg stuff and happy to report things are actually looking really good, root and plant wise now. Might have to hold off on that sterile plan for the time being until I see a reason not too. Man this sure has been a roller coaster of ups and downs...

Last I checked it was 68f. I know a little cooler would be better but this is as low as I can get it without adding a chiller or something.

Didn't even help I don't think. Not surprised though I'm just lucky like that lol. Thinking maybe the competition was too much. Hoping that if I nuke them with the sterile route first and than bring in the troops(bennies) after that it might be more successful.

I tried using it a few weeks ago and it didn't do anything. I don't think i was using enough though. Just used the recommended amount on the bottle but i think that's likely more for maintenance. Not fighting a full blown pythium outbreak.

It would certainly be a hell of a lot cheaper, that's for sure. Gonna give it a shot for a week and see where it takes me.

It was shocking to see how bad my roots went in 48 hrs last weekend when i stopped using the piranha. Makes me think i must have tons of bad bacteria in there.

Was thinking about cleaning the shit out of my equipment with the bleach, run the h202 for a week and then hit it up with the piranha and sag the next week.

Well i have a good scale but not down to 0.01. That's why i was thinking bleach or h202.

If I was to try sterile with bleach for a week what ppm(of bleach) should I be at? I also have 29% h202 if you think that might be better?

What is the optimal water temperature when fighting pythium? It's February and I live in a super cold part of Canada in the winter. An abundance of frozen 2l bottles would not be a problem right now lol. Sounds like a major pain in the ass tbh but I'm willing to do whatever it takes at...

So things look like they're headed in the right direction again now(knock on wood). Plants looking happier and roots are coming around again. No idea for sure if it's the new set up, the sag or Piranha. My guess is Piranha though. Once my water is super clear that's when everything starts...

Some look ok, some look like shit. No I wouldn't say i'm winning the fight yet. Still battling though. Over the last couple days I've switched my veg to an aeroponics type set up so my roots no longer get submerged into the water and receive more air . See if that helps any.

Fixing root rot: Hydroguard v Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide

Well either way whether it was gnats or something else I obviously have the right conditions for it to survive, spread, and was getting worse and worse. Gonna change things up in my veg set up, along with the sag and piranha and see where it takes me.
