Smart balance isnt gonna make good butter because it doesnt have a very high fat content... Needs to be the highest fat content you can find so it can have sumin to bond to. As far as temps go, i wouldnt ever get it above about 275 max, cannabinoids start burning off around 300 or so.

It def shouldnt be that high, I have a well and its about 20 ppm with a ph of 6.3 straight out the tap.. Its nice being able to add water without ph up or downing.
