Well, it took me 2 days but I'm done! 2 plants a day at my slow pace. My thumb hurts. I'm buying real pruners next time!
4 strings, 5 feet long each:
Plus piles of popcorn and a giant paper bag full of hash-making trim when it's dry.
I need a vacation! This should last me a while, I hope!
Amazon Prime + 5 bucks + 2 days = good enough. All you need is a 30x-45x. Can get them with super white LEDs built in for illumination.
Here's mine. Had it over a year and works great for cheap Chinese junk: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002E0MU70/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
My PE's before chop yesterday:
Bur shot from a couple days prior: (note the orange hairs and swollen calyxes - ignore the dead leaves lol, been flushed/leached for over a week)
Well thank God for scissor hash.. this is going to take me forever! I thought I would be quicker than my last harvest, but 4 plants is more than 2...
White widows:
Pineapple Expresses:
They are all right around 36" (3 foot) tall on the dot. Grown in 50/50 coco/perlite in 2 gallon smart pots...
I just set my oven on 170, take a thick piece of foil (a regular piece folded a time or two works well) and use a toothpick to poke a ton of air holes in it. Set it on the middle rack, cover with buds, leave the oven cracked. Wait 5-10 minutes and then let it cool. Repeat a couple of times or...
I'm chopping this WW today, along with her less desirable pheno sister. It's not a bad plant, just a higher leaf ratio than the excellent specimen pictured.
They were G13 freebies from my 4/20 order at Attitude.
This pic was day 63 (9 weeks on the dot) and it's ready.
That picture was actually taken on the 1st, so it will have had another 4 days. It's ripened a bit since then but it was a lower bud, it just had so much purple in it I liked the photo. :joint:
It's the front right plant in the full size shot, so you can see how ripe the cola and main buds are.
Just because they turn cloudy doesn't make them ready. They stay cloudy for quite some time and this is when the buds do their filling out. Once the fruit is ripe the trichromes will start turning amber and then *snip* *snip*. Smoke em up!
Last grow was 5 gallon DWC. Never once changed the res from start to finish. Harvested 6.5 o's under a 400w HPS in ~3 months total grow time. It's not impossible but towards the end you can expect some really funny readings and crispy leaves to go with it. But hell, who smokes leaves?
This...
Yeah, it's very common to cut off a ripe cola and leave lower branches to mature for another week or so. You are so far along now that you likely won't really hurt your yield or cause hermi issues. In fact, it sounds like your best option.
Happy smoking! :bigjoint:
3 days is not nearly long enough dry time to cure unless you are giving them 12 hours of open air time a day for another week. 5-7 days drying before jarring minimum.
Yeah, may as well. If it is dry it probably won't come back.. especially at this stage. I would cut the minimum of whatever you think has done all it will and leave as much as you think will mature a little more.
Do you have high temps or poor ventilation?
I keep mine at 70ish in dark and 80 with lights on. Small fan blowing across the top so I can lower the cooltube to 6-10" from the tops.
Sorry for the blurry camera phone pic. This is most of the plant, all that I could fit in the frame haha.
On...
My last harvest contained a single White Siberian specimen (amongst other strains).
One of my favorite smokes ever and the local supplier here couldn't sell his usual products because everyone wanted my medicine instead.
TBH I probably cut it a few days early. About ~20% amber trichs or so...
