I broke this one almost all the way through and after a couple days with a band aid its supporting itself and the growth past the break is the same as the other top.
Alright, since I'm switching to 12/12 tonight I went ahead and took some cuts from the plants. Not sure if I'm goignt o do clones next time or thsoe seeds that i found but I figured it couldnt hurt to have a couple mothers around.
I used two methods - one is a seed tray with clonex solution...
Shipinit - thanks for the encouragement. I'm just freaking out because I don't really have anyone to come and look at things and help me out. I get some general gardening advice from the guy I got the led's from and that's it along with what I remember of others' grows back in the day. I...
It's been a while since I posted. Really, I don't even know if anyone's paying attention. I want to clarify that I am looking for help and advice as this is my first try.
Well, after fimming, some super cropping/lst, and numerous trials and tribulations I have taken cuttings from 6 of the...
I meant to probe the soil as you suggest - I have one (cheapo three in one) but it requires you to mix the soil with an equal amount of water to test - i can't see how that would give you a tru reading. THanks again.
On a side note, does anyone have any experience with Oakton PH meters....specifically this model here.
I found one for sale locally used but only a few times....comes with case, calibration fluids....extra probe.....and 400 bucks cheaper than new.
THat's a lot of money! I just got an oakton...

Thanks for the input. I had feeling that any kind of runoff test was going to be off.
I just transplanted so the majority of the soil is brand new and only has the initial "nutrient charge" in it. I have seen amazing plants and yields come out of this same soil mix - I just never had a...
so, i think i found the answer to the ph issue - i need to seperate some of the soil, run neutral water through it and test that runoff. But, arent the tds still going to be off because of all the peat particles in the runoff???
Alright, so for the first time in the new pots I soaked one of the plants all the way through (the others still have moisture on the outside edges and I want them to shoot roots out to find it. I watered it with phd (6.5), filtered water with a tiny bit of cal mag and some micro root stimulants...
50 years is a very short time for the plants to adapt but NOT a very long time for breeders to select strains that grow best under certain circumstances. I think you are on to something and the best way to find out is for people to experiment with various strains and find the ones that respond...
