Liquid cooling is also a viable solution to pushing COBs hard. Might be something to consider. Also easier to get that heat out of your grow area and cut down on overall cooling costs.
I think the problem is its more of a novelty item at a price that most would only consider if the item were necessary.
Also for that price I would expect a thermocouple that has accuracy better than +-2C, don't you think?
Ive never heard of an instance where any cannabis plant did worse under 24/7. You just get them to veg faster. They wont stretch as much in veg either.
And unless heat is a major issue which it almost certainly isnt, no downside to running the driver and cobs 24/7.
Just so anyone considering following this build knows, you can swap out the D version veros for the B versions and use the 1050ma version of the same driver.
Same cost, more efficient light and you can power it a little more to boot.
No reason not to do this imo unless you have sourcing issues.
What kind of multipliers we talking? I'm using .015 to guesstimate my setup using a mix of 3500k cri80 and 3000k cri90 vero 29B SE chips. Regardless it should get me in the ballpark.
It has the same 62 watt wall draw as what now? Which cob fixture you referring to?
Also, why would it be unfair to compare a mutlipoint light source to another multipoint light source. Also, 10k lux is not a lot of light...
Well it wasnt very well insulated but it was completely sealed. It was a small grow space (4 cubic feet) that I had planned to cool. Even with nothing else on (lights pumps etc) it failed to reduce temperatures in the box.
Watch this video and tell me what conclusions you come to...
Well, I tried using one to cool down a volume of 4 cubic feet and it didnt do shit. Dont waste your time and money.
If I had to guess, youll probably need over 600watts of terribly inefficient peltiers to achieve your goals...
Youd be further ahead tapping into your existing cooling...
How big of an array of peltiers do you think youll need to cool down 27 cubic feet by 10 to 15degrees?
Because a single ~60w peltier chip will do literally nothing...
Its about using the proper tool for the job, watercooling isnt always the proper tool.
And tty does reclaim the heat in his system. I wouldnt ask him any in depth questions about his system though, in my experience, gleaning useful information about his setup out of him is about as easy as...
Were saying by the time you put those led light bulbs in there you will have practically no room for plants. Its the bulbs taking up 2-3 inches of space vs about a half inch or so with an LED panel. But I can tell you have no clue about LEDs judging by your comment of putting ~200 individual...
