Ed Rosenthal's Bud of The Month

Congrats man, that's the pinnacle of the hobby, having Ed publish our buds!! I've had a copy of Ask Ed for many years, even if I know it from front to back, it still just looks nice in the grow room. haha It is a pretty damn nice looking bud, I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

    Minnesota Grow Info?

Depends what you grow, if you get a quicker finishing variety you can do well. If you try to grow Sativas, than not so well. That's why bagseed outdoor grows in northern climates can be heaven or hell. A buddy of mine had this plant this year, 3rd week in August it looked almost done, was yummy...

    transplanting in flowering stage?????

I've seen roots do that before, they have more roots under too, don't fret it. Are you planning to transplant into a different mix? If not you may as well just fix the mix shes in. But they can be transplanted in flowering, best results are probably to do it earlier in flowering. How far along...

    need help!

I haven't ever used CFLs, so my guess wouldn't be too great, I would guess an ounce. Are the buds fluffy or are they tight nugs? I mean they will seem a little fluffy anyways because of the hairs, but can you see through them?

They flower them from seed, and use fem seeds, the fan is all intact, so the ventilation is present. The lights mount on the top of the pc case, and I imagine everything is ran from the power supply on the comp. I have seem some neat little grows like that on here. Not my cup of tea, but it's...

    need help!

For first time I'd suggest pots and soil / soilless mix. Along with that get a small to medium HPS lamp 250 watt or 400 watt. Plus a small humidifier for vegging, a fan for air movement, and last but not least a timer. You can do a small grow with that, and the heat shouldn't be too bad. Not a...

Miracle Gro potting soil time release ferts.

Yeah or you can use the other stuff once they grow some, it wont be as hot on established plants. But I don't like time release shit, I like to know what's going in. Soil mediums main job is to give the roots a place to live and hold the food / water that you give em.

How much is too much light

It would be very tough to have too much light indoors, it can be done with the lack of shade we give them and all, but no way you will over light them with CFLs.

Do roots grow during flowering stage?

It could in some cases, but sometimes not transplanting is worse, in my case it would have been worse not to. Every situation is different though.

    How to clean sticky scissors?

Scrape with a razor blade, when you get a good ball, drop it in your pipe and smoke some pure THC. Who cares if the scissors never get shiny again.

SHIPPING WOES! could u a little advice from those of us more experienced with Herbies

Maybe they have been confiscated and a letter is on it's way to you explaining as much. That would be worst case scenario, I wouldn't worry about that yet. Just give it a bit, shipping isn't always perfect and I know we get impatient.

    Little green hairs on plant??

Those are normal, and they aren't for sexing, they are part of the plants normal day to day functions, I'm not exactly sure what they do. Sometimes in the right light people will confuse them with pre flowers, until they realize they are green. Maybe stomata are on those, and they help with...
