Unless you`re growing a lot of plants, I wouldn`t worry about choppers!

Plants only *need* 6 or so hours of direct sunlight to do well. It will be hard for you to find a spot outside that will give you a full day of direct sunlight. Balconies usually work well.. You`ll either get morning or afternoon sun so It`ll work out either way.
