DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

crap you got me worried. I introduced 3 cups/gal 7 days ago when I first started using the tea. 3 days later I poured about 1 cup/3 gal. And it's during the past 4 days i noticed the thick slime on old roots but also the explosion of new root growth. I just assumed more tea wouldn't hurt. I also...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Thanks spanky. M plants are exploding with new roots. I love it. But I may have added too much tea. My old roots are slimed everywhere with biofilm. Should I change the whole res or just top off with less tea ratio? Here are some root shots today. You can compare to the pics I posted a couple...

dyna gro users, i need some advice.

Yea forget about the pH and the first 3 weeks of floweing. Keep the pH 5.8- 6. You actually don't need dynagro bloom. Keep using the grow. If you want you can mix grow and bloom 1:1 but keep the the total amount at 5-8 ml/gal. I think the chart is to force the plant to go flowering at beginning...

dyna gro users, i need some advice.

I'm using Dyna gro too but I'm a newb. Found this one for dwc. They have soiless and circulating feeding schedule but the nutes may be too much. This one seems to be just right. Not too strong not too light. www.hhydro.com/files/Instructions/dynagro.pdf

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

I think I'm just gonna leave the old roots there to be safe. Looks like the microbe is leaving off of the old roots. Got a thick black gooey thing attached to the roots. Does it mean the roots are dead and are being consumed. Here is the pic from this morning.

Well those brown roots are not growing longer and stopped growing secondary roots. Not sure if dead. Will they break off themselves eventually if dead?

I changes res once a week but its pain in the ass when I have 10 dwc res. I think the old roots are pretty much dead but also kinda firm. Here are pictures of 2 plants' roots.

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Thanks Heisenberg and gang. I had bad root rot. I trimmed away the brown roots and used h2o2. Waited for a week. Slime didn't break out but the plants were not growing new roots. Just apply the tea 4 days ago. Last night I checked there were bunch of nice white fuzzy little roots coming out of...

I just wanted to make sure the sugars been used up. The goo is just a bunch of microbe right? Can I just dump the goo in dwc res?

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

I just finished brewing my first ever tea. what is all the gooey stuff at the bottom of the bucket? i thought it's leftover sugar but doesn't have sweet smell at all. Don't think it's worm crap as my ewc still feels like soil inside the pantyhose. Below were what i had. 2 gal tap water sit 36...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Do I really need to add mycogrow or ZHO in the tea? Like Spanky pointed out, mycorrhizal fungi would only germinate upon contact with roots. What about Trichoderma? I don't think it needs roots but pretty certain it won't multiply in the tea. And how long does it take Trichoderma spores to...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Can we put a pantyhose of ewc and add mycogrow directly into dwc res? To diversify the benes we can make fresh batch every time we change the res.

sick plants with deficiency. need help.

i thought the same so i got flat white spray paint instead of black. was thinking brush paint but too lazy to mess with primer and all that crap. it'd look at least less ghetto than poly film.

I thought foil tape create heat spots. Inside of res is fairly dark with panda film wrap around it. I'm going to spray paint the buckets black this week. I trimmed down the roots as much as I could and added 5ml of 27% h2o2. Yesterday I change the res with nutes and 2 ml of h2o2. Will add 2ml...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Mr. Heisenberg is it possible running the brewer all the time and culture the benes by adding sugar or molasses once every few days? Probably also need to change the worm castings once a few weeks. This way we don't have to buy any more mycos (the expensive one of the ingredients). Small time...
