Yeah I got a good COLA retirement raise this year.....a lot of those days off came in lieu of pay.

This is one of the reasons state workers get so many days off. The state would go years and years without a pay raise and then the state would give us another day off in lieu of pay. We already had enough time off, we needed more pay but we couldn't strike....You live and died each election...

not in prison, you would find your ID card cancelled and they would bring in the National Guard.

mostly public sector....my 25 years in the California Dept of Corrections we had a no-strike clause.
