If your interior temps are around 70-73 degree's you will not need extra ac unless you are running quite a few lamps. I find lec only increases room temps by a few degrees as long as you have good air flow. i would say they run about as warm as a air cooled 600 watt.

if you dont want to spend the extra money to get the Sun System the Hydro farm will do just fine. I checked out the hydro farm at a local shop and was quite impressed, They were selling them for about $60 cheaper then the sun system

The kits will work but they wont drive the lamp anywhere near the efficiency of a real square wave ballast. I absolutely love my LEC but im slightly skeptical of running them off of anything but a ballast designed for the bulb.
