    New LED grow

I agree with Chronikool that the one you ordered isn't much good. I think that you would do better spending your $100 on good fluorescent lighting or a small HID vice super cheap led. You could mix in some LED bulbs in the grow. Petflora has played around quite a bit with LED bulbs...maybe...

Starting New grow, Needs advice on Led lighting Setup, Decent lighting budget

There's a sticky at the top for asking what light to get. Read at least the first few pages and post up there. You may get the answers you need but if not, more people will probably answer your questions there.

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

You want Cree, Philips or Oslon LEDs. Anyone who won't tell you what chips they are using is most likely trying to con you into buying an inferior product. The other lies that con artist manufacturers try to tell is to give the wattage of the panel in theoretical watts (the maximum that the LEDs...

How to increase my yield? (2 weeks and half into flower)

My first thoughts were drop the temps; you can't get good tight buds with high heat. Are you monitoring your relative humidity? For flower 50% is about right.

What do you feed your worms?! whats your preferred bedding for them?!

I use coir for bedding. It's good for soil mix and not terribly expensive. Put your eggshells in too - great for calcium!

Help!! My leaves are turning brown

Yes. It should be about a third of the soil mix.

    Need serious help

Sounds like you are burning them. If your hand is very warm from the light at the top of the plant after leaving it there for a minute, you're too hot. Probably the soil is too nutrient rich for seedlings. Cut it with peat or coir. Keep the seedling in a humid environment -, spritz with water...

    GREENSAND?? help please.

Greensand is a very slow release product - months to years. If you reuse your soil or make your own compost, you will like it. If you just throw out your soil at the end of each grow then you won't really get benefit. If you make your own compost, you can throw some in there for the critters to...

The LED warm white bulbs are a good idea too. But yes, you can grow better under the Hans Panels because the difference in efficiency between a good panel and what most people buy is night and day.

Two Hans Panels shipped - $500 You might add a couple of small (about 20 watters) warm CFLs in the flowering area for just a little additional light and spectrum...or not.

There's a person on another board who told their LED tale. He started with 90WUFO because he was told that would do it for him..well he wasn't happy with the results...so he bought another cheap ebay panel a 135W Blackstar...and he wasn't happy with that POS either (whodda' thunk!?) then he...

Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

Start off by making the basic environment inhospitable to mites - lower temps and increase humidity - and then use an appropriate method like soap and water or habanero/garlic, etc

What are some organic ways to lower PH?

Gypsum lowers ph and adds some nice calcium and sulphur...and it's cheap and easy to find.
  14. J

    Earth juice and protekt?

Oyster shell flour (fast acting) or ground oyster shells (slow) also buffer the ph of the soil and add calcium as well. About a cup per 8 gallons or so of soil.

I have Kessils and love 'em. I have 4 H350 magentas on a spectral spinner and two diy units right now for veg of royal blue and white. The spinner is really a great addition to these small multiple units and provides great coverage. The plants look fantastic - structure, color, everything. I'll...

DIY LED water cooled, high limit temp switch

Water cooling is about as good as it gets. The biggest downside is leaks and if you aren't worried then you'll certainly have a "cool" system in all senses. I'd love to see a pic/ hear about it when you are done.

What size led would be overkill?

Yes, it would but at about 180 Watts you'll have about 60 watts/ft2 and you don't have a lot of space to dissipate heat. With your choices, I'd be more inclined to the Apollo 4 and a couple small CFLs. One alternative you may wish to look at is the Hans Panel. It's really meant for small spaces...

What size led would be overkill?

You'll want about 40 watts/ft2 for that quality of light so the Apollo 4 should do it for you. The one issue is coverage - you may need to add some small CFLs in the corners for flowering.

DIY LED water cooled, high limit temp switch

Just another thought for something that's fairly cheap and effective and you don't have to deal with water and potential leaks - square aluminum tubing with a pressuriziing fan...take a look at stevesleds.com
