    Hi i need help

I saw a CFL today that puts out 2600 lumens. It's about $10 for the bulb, but it'd be nice to have a reflector for it. I plan on getting one and putting it in a standard desk lamp. But if you're growing only using flouros and can't afford the upgrade to MH or HPS, I'd definitely get something...

25 seeds sown, male success rate 100%

Yea, I'm gonna have to say it's a water issue too in my opinion. I've always heard that if you use tap water without letting it set out a couple of days it'll tend to turn out a male. That + bag seed + maybe a little bit unlucky. It could happen.

    When to start topping

2 points. Depending on how confident you are in your abilities, you could research LST. It's a process of growing the stem in different shapes and angles. It'll really help with your space conservations. Also, I had the same problem with my proxy. Just make a fake photobucket account...

    Would this light work?

I would imagine the light used for lizards and such would put out too much heat. They're normally referred to as heating lamps, right? But I could be wrong. You may be able to find an acceptable temperature with a fan depending on space, but as for sufficient lighting it'd depend on the...

    Problem with stem growth...

I actually had the same exact problem. The problem is the lighting. It isn't getting enough light and because of that it is stretching to get more. If you don't get more light AND/or move the light closer (if it's cool to the touch), the stem will eventually grow so tall that it won't support...

Really new to this (w/ pics) Need advice

It's about 1.5 months old. Currently using 30-10-10 food because I heard higher nitrogen would stop the yellowing in the leaves

Any special care I should give it afterwards? More light, less light? Nutes, plain water?

As far as transplanting goes, can you recommend a good guide for that? I checked out the GrowFAQ but didn't see one though I may have overlooked it.

Really new to this (w/ pics) Need advice

The 75w light is about 2 inches above it and I have the 15w light beside it to give more light under the top canopy. The soil is Miracle Grow (I know not the best option, but all I had available at the time). Also, I like the idea of the printer paper, but wouldn't that be a fire hazard?

Really new to this (w/ pics) Need advice

Okay, new to growing and looking for general advice. This plant is about 1.5 months in and as you can see it had a bit of a stretching problem at the beginning. It is running under 2 fluorescent lights: One 24" 75w Growlight, and one 18" 15w aquarium vegetation light. There is a fan in the...

    Yellowing...?

I'm new to this, but I'm having the exact same problem. It STARTED with the 2 small leafs at the bottom and once they were all the way yellow, the yellowing started on the next node up...Then those died as well. I hope this doesn't continue. From what I've gathered it could possibly be a...

Stem way too tall in the early Veg state

So I have an indoor plant about 2.5 weeks old. Within 2 days at the beginning it shot up several inches. I had the light 2-4 inches above them and kept it about that far away. It eventually got so tall it couldn't support it's weight. I experimented dropping the light down to 1/2 inch above...

    Beginner lighting question

Hi all, I'm completely new to growing and was wondering if the light I'm using is sufficient and if not, what is something cheap and locally accessible to replace it with? I'm currently using a: T8 18'' plant and aquarium grow light. 15 watts and 510 lumens. Here is a link for it: 49892 -...
