What Is Wrong With My Plants?

change to cfls asap. and no, cfls shouldn't stress or harm them at all. Cfls should be no farther than 2" away during flower although you can get away with 5" for now during seedling stage. As to the type of CFLs, use the daylight version. These are the really white ones (they make your house...

    Imitating a drought before harvest

Wine industry sometimes hopes for a drought during harvesting season to increase sugar production. Same with citrus. So there is some truth there. If it works with weed, let someone who has tested this theory out answer the question rather than arguing about it. As far as decreasing rez temps...

    Maximum Light requirements for plant?

Just saw this in Cervantes book. IMO based on the description the title should read Minimum Light requirements for Plants Maybe its based on the fact that the sun emits 10,000 foot-candles on a bluebird day? On a side note, if you are reading Cervantes book, some of the info in it is just...

    Plant selection questions???

Also, your right about keeping the ppms low. With marijuana, less is always more. Anyway, you won't necessarily be 'weeding' out the weaklings. If you have some die due to high ppms most likely even the more tolerant ones are suffering too but aren't showing any immediate signs (unless your...

    Plant selection questions???

A seedling will have more vigorous growth than a clone. I always use some liquid karma. Depending on the strain 1-2 tsp per gallon when soaking the cubes. Make sure to pH your water too. Don't know, although i've heard that optimally you want to veg from seed for 2 months before you throw them...

keeping / leaving fan leaves on during trimming.

So I'm about to throw my plants into flower tomorrow so I've been trimming. But I HAVE been leaving the lower fan leaves on. The way I look at it is that the fan leaves are extra foliage for photosynthesis without adding a bud sight that would be low producing anyway. Has anyone done this?

How many nodes should I have before flowering for SOG

Well thanks for the input guys. I plan on using the stealth grow 602 led for this grow. The reason I'm doing SOG is I want to see how the yield is in the middle compared to the outside. Here are a few pics of setup. The pics are 4 days apart. Makes me think I should do a lot of trimming...

How many nodes should I have before flowering for SOG

Hey guys, about to a grow log for a true SOG (17 plants in botanicare's 4x4 ebb and flow system). How many nodes would you guys have before putting into flower? or I guess a better way of saying this is what should the maximum distance be between the top node the bottom-most node? I guess it...

    2010 Revised Super Soil Recipe

so subcool, I might have used too much of your supersoil (2009 version) in my current grow (around 25%). I'm sure you've done the same thing in the past so how have you leached the solution? Specifics: Strain: Strawberry Cough Clone Soil: Dr. Earth Potting Soil Vegged for over a month in 3...

    Question bottom feeding after transplanting

Hey so I saw somewhere (forget where), that some people, when they transplant, they use the bottom feeding method to water the plants the first time to ensure complete saturation. Sooo, I tried this yesterday with some of my new transplanted plants (into tall 5 gallon bags) and left them in the...

    Diesel ryder CFL grow

well for one of them, it was probably stressed due to all of the mold in the center... for the others, its probably a nitrogen deficiency which people say is a good thing towards the end of flowering.

Where Do I Find High Quality Strawberry Plugs?

So I was reading in a hydroponic magazine (forget which one though) that you shouldn't buy strawberry seeds but rather, strawberry starter plugs. Anyone know of a reputable online dealer?

Trouble Cloning Strawberry Cough (original clone only i.e. not dutch passion)

Hey so I've been having serious trouble cloning my beloved strawberrry cough that I recently got from a dispensery. I recently switched from Olivia's cloning gel to Clonex. Granted, I'm being a little ghetto by using the top of my t-5 as a warming pad but still, this is ridiculous considering...

    cfl lights

I agree with tomahawk, cfls seem to go up exponentially in price with higher wattage. I personally used mostly 23 watt and a couple of 46 watt throughout my grow ( https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/254132-diesel-ryder-cfl-grow.html ). One thing about cfls is that you want them as close as...
