You would want to be sucking as much air out as possible really, especially if your growing in a hot area... like me. I was worried about noise too, then I got an 8" to replace my 6 coz of heat problems... even louder. It depends where you grpw, to whether noise is an issue. Next door...

I think someone was asking about the dead red and ahow effective it was, well from the day I used it I had 100% no mites, well dead ones, dunno if eggs ever hatched, never saw any life after 1 application, looked when I manicured buds and no life... Only cost about AUS$20 for big spray bottle...
