was using foil myself until people started telling me if light reflects off it right it can burn small holes right through your leaves, not certain or anything but this COULD be causing the "small tears". good thread my friend will have to see this one to the end. happy growing !

So Im getting 3 Y's and having 4 23w' cfls on them, on a 20-4 cycle, temperature wise I think ill be ok, (outdoor shed) but humidity i have no idea not sure on how important it is for them but getting some info on that would help me out too.

put blankets around your lights and box, try to hold heat in and around the box to get at least a few degrees while lights are on, im doing a (shed) grow right now and am doing the same kind of thing with the blankets, traps alot of heat from my lights but a heater behind a fan is a much better...

can someone let me know how far away it should be, lowered the light to about 12" away from the top of the soil, the is a small amount of heat still coming from the bulb this far away. someone can simply just let me know if this is far even away or not.

how far away should a 100w bulb be from the soil though? do you know, the seedling is just barley at the top of the soil. dont want it to stretch

temps are going from anywhere from 50-55 with lights on during the night and 65-70 during the day with lights on. without lights on it would be like 35-40 at night and 50-55 during the day

small 2x2 box , open at the top light mounted about 20-30 inches above .. very small low end small scale grow just trying to understand and enjoy the hobby a little more.
