clones in soil - lots of questions - help much appreciated

I haven't topped it yet and I think I missed my opportunity (at least at 4 colas) since its more than 7 nodes grown but I'm definitely going to take some clones from the lower growth and just place them in water using a beer or soda can see if i get some roots then they'll be going in some ocean...

Cfl or 400 hps for seedling?

sorry that was unclear. i meant they would grow a bit faster under the hps, as in kudos to that idea. but i read you can produce higher quality buds if u increase the light when switching them to flower. the 18 or 20 light cycle and power savings was a seperate idea in itself that i tossed out...

Urine drug test and air in grow room

worse... a someone could do some meth a week before and pee squeaky clean. but no i don't think hanging out in a grow room will make you fail a drug test. i would say smoke a bowl and settle down but i guess that's bit self defeating. do some exercise drink lots of water and you'll be fine.

Cfl or 400 hps for seedling?

i've read in rosenthal's guide that you get better buds if you increase the light when you switch to the 12/12 cycle which is why i suggested keeping them under the cfls thru veg but, like paul newman said, you could use the 400 for some vegging at 24/0, or 18/6 if you wanted to safe a few bucks...

Cfl or 400 hps for seedling?

That really depends on your soil. Most blends have nutrients in them already so you can just use tap water (let it sit out overnite for chlorine or use aquarium drops) for the first few weeks and the nutrients from the soil will be plenty for the young lady - last thing you want to do is over...

Cfl or 400 hps for seedling?

like kerovan mentioned they are in their veg state right now. i would keep them under the cfls with at least an 18 hour light cycle until you want to flower them. then put them under your hps at 12/12. for your first time i would suggest flowering them when they're 3-4 wks old or about 11" tall...

    Bathroom Growing

anyone can guess on its sex but its too soon to tell. whether its an indica or a sativa will become more clear as it continues to grow. sativas are lankie, sorta xmas tree shaped while indicas are more bushy. most likely its a hybrid of sorts. if it was a pure sativa the fingers on your fan...

    First grow ever!!!

hey they're coming along... it takes em a minute when they revert. the one on the front right looks a little wind-blown, and are you trimming the lower branches? cloning? or are they just stretched? with a 250 i wouldnt let them get over a ft during veg or your light might not be able to...

clones in soil - lots of questions - help much appreciated

right on. i'm thinking that i'll skip the pellets and just use dirt. and i'll keep the ph around 6.5 but won't sweat it as much as i have been. i was under the impression that ocean forest was the best soil but now i've been reading that a mixture of light warrior and OF might be the way to go -...

Frost prevention ideas for in-ground, outdoor plants.

dark colored wine bottles filled with water work in a similiar way. they heat up under sunlight and then release warmth as it cools.

clones in soil - lots of questions - help much appreciated

thanks everyone - im definitely making this more complicated than it needs to be. i guess my one remaining question concerns the ph of the water i use to water the clone once i transplant it into soil. McFonz i appreciate the response, 5.7-6.0 seems more acidic than what i originally thought for...

clones in soil - lots of questions - help much appreciated

I'm about to use Uncle Ben's topping method and I'd like to root the cutting in a peat pellet with dirt. I'm 0 for 3 on trying this so could use some help. All the threads I've found pertaining to cloning in soil cover the mechanics and not so much the materials, so here goes the questions. I...

oh my god, i'm finally doing it!!!!

the fact that you're using coco and not soil changes the approach completely. maybe you should have mentioned that in your first post, and left out the word "soil".

oh my god, i'm finally doing it!!!!

1 - i usually plant around 1/4" deep and then set my light sched to 20/4 2 - when you should start feeding it depends primarily on the makeup of your soil and secondly the genetics of your plant; most potting soils have enough nutrients to carry the plant thru the first few weeks of vegging just...
