hi they are probably stretching because they dont have enough light. they are fighting to get closer to the light you had. you will need more light, search for LST which is a way of tying the plant down to growthe way you want.

try jiffy pellets, its my first time and i was advised to use these. the seed will root into the pellet quite a bit, and then the whole thing can go in your plantpot. if you germ with paper towels u have to handle the rooting seedand bury it in ur growing medium so ur risking damage doing this...
