Those looks great, close for sure but prob could still pack some weight for a week or so. What strain?

That would be fine in my opinion. Ive got a similar one and works great. Anything 30x-60x would be perfect. Anything more and its harder to focus, less would obiouvsly be harder to see but I have a x16 that works alright just need to really look and must be still.

Not necessarily the best ones out there but amazon and ebay have tons of cheap jewlers loupes under 10$

That looks great for your first grow. I was thinking about the BF liberty haze but decided to do a run of the BF LSD first because of the high thc content and the great reviews about it, ready for harvest in a week from today so won't be long for a smoke report for that. But I may try this next

Smell isn't a huge issue for me at the moment. I'll be moving for my next grow where it will be much more of a problem and I'll be getting a filter

Depending on your temps you want a dark room with a small fan not blowing on the buds, temps between 65F-75F and RH 45-55%. Dry for atleast 5 days for a nice slow dry.

HPS is not for vegging, that will give you a very stretched plant being mostly stem. Metal Halide for veg and HPS for flower if you go HID route. 600w is going to be hot, even a 400w setup will be hot and you will need a good ventilation system
