I use a ziplock bag for humidity because I live in one of the dryest places on Earth. Seriously. :0)

It should be okay like that. I would suggest, however, to put a clear plastic bag over it to help keep in moisture, also, you might want to pop it into a dark cup instead of a clear one so the water doesn't get "ooookkkkyyyyy".
