If growing in soil under an hps is heat as big a concern as it is with hydroponics? I live in the desert and I've seen some outdoor grows in 5 gallon pots that were fine at over 100 degrees. Is soil more heat friendly? Is it because the plants outside are under different light cycles? Thanks!

Thanks for all the quick replies. The soil is new Fox Farms and its supposed to be ph balanced. I use RO water that's around 6.0. I'm new at this indoor stuff and didn't want to go hydro yet.
