Eight 13w CFL's? That is a total of 104 watts... you could run that off a solar panel. Maybe it is costing you 5 bucks a month...about the same as your yield will be.

Atrain- I would rethink that cab. It is less than 3' tall. What medium are you planning to grow in? If "stealth" plants need about a 3 gallon container (that is 12" tall) so now you are down to 2'. If you use CFL's or tube fluoro maybe take away 6". That will leave you with (at best) 1.5'...

What type of light are you using? How strong is it?

The other I got two 42watt 2700k bulbs, it was my first time using them. I hooked them and put them the same distance away as my 23w bulbs. Luckily I came back quick bc it was starting to burn cola leaves. I swear those 42w's are almost not worth the trouble. I would rather have two 23w's...

Zac - If you need better light coverage cfl's are a perfect way to get it. They will compliment your HPS great, especially for bushier type plants. Check out this guy's grow journal, he used an HPS w/ CFL's...you can't argue with the results...

I agree w/ Jmel, too many ducets for that. Check your local craigslist, you will be surprised the deals you can find find from "desperate sellers" looking to unload HID setups.

Grow it - Its cheaper to just buy it for now until you have a privacy... I have seen grow cabinets bigger than dorm rooms...

lilkc - The first thing you need to do is research. Growing this stuff is not rocket science but one stupid decision or mistake and you could end up with a bunch of wasted time and $$.

Those are tight tight quarters but completely doable. You can make a "cluster" style overhead fixture of CFL's on a chain for easy height adjustment any maybe some tube fluoros on the walls. I would say 2 plants max in that box though. Ventilation/Cooling are the most important issues for you...

Nunya - Sweet setup. I like tube fluoro's but have never really come up with a cab design I liked to go total tubes. The plants like good, they seem to love that overhead light. You seem to be doing this almost as an experiment now to show what the T5's have. I can totally appreciate that...
