Solving the fatal flaw of LEDs - experiment

Thank you, someone that also is not completely naive to the whole LED mumbo jumbo. I have been following the plight of LED lighting since the start and it has been full of so many people babbling crap like, LED light does not have the same penetration as HID. Well damn, if you are testing a 10w...

    L.E.D. grow lights?

I won't quote anyone because this thread is just too jam packed full of rubbish I'd be here all day. LedGrow has said some pretty convincing counter arguments to the dribble that has been said and there are still stubborn and under educated people trying to argue their misinformed point of...

14 days i flower whaat do u think

I heard that because of less evaporartion with LED you don't need to have nutes as strong sometimes causing issues. Check the ph. Make sure your ph is not too high or too low which might be causing nute malabsorbtion and thus nute buildup.

    Ultimate growing situation

I like the way you are thinking, but more thorough research is required. as with the bunker. that is a good idea, but probably just as effective as using a purpose built garage or basement. its not just the lighting and space you have to think about, you have to sort out temperature, airflow...

    lights out!

yer they are quite far along, got crystals on the bud leaves and the rods are about 2 inches, not only that but they dried out heaps too so many of the lower leaves died off. I put them back onto 12/12. I'm just wondering how badly screwing with the timing effects the budding cycle.

    lights out!

on this topic of light change, I recently had a timer die on me and the lights went 24/7 for 2 days during budding. Does anyone know what effect this will have? Cheers :wall:

Think I am going to have to try LEDs

buds, no. not budding with them yet. Give me a couple of weeks and we'll see. I would like to show how good this light is. I'd expect 200w if this light would be plenty for budding a reasonable sized plant. Any suggestions from anyone the configuration that would best suit them. small cube of...

Think I am going to have to try LEDs

I've been using a Custom LED setup I built on some plants recently inside a small grow cupboard designed for sprouting. sproutlings are twice as healthy as large 'compact' fluro, and a vege plant is giving better results than a 400W HPS Did a lot of research before i built it. its a small...

    LEDs for vegging

I've been using a Custom LED setup I built on some plants recently, and have been getting better results than a 400W HPS Did a lot of reserch before i built it. its a small array 100mm X 200mm twin fans on the heatsink and 100W of LED The heatsink gets a little warm on a hot day, so I'm either...

Just Got RED LEDs Today. Started Flowering Today Day 1

Yer I'm using LED's as well. I am using them to sprout seeds. they are fantastic for this as they don't dry out the soil like CFL do. means I can be lazy and not water them as often. bonus for me. I sprouted a advacado in 3 weeks and it is now growing strong. I have a happy little herb...

Just Got RED LEDs Today. Started Flowering Today Day 1

looks like those LED's have a bit of a wide beam. you might want to put the lights closer to the plant :o) Phil

    special LED lighting question

Nah, don't use White ones, waste of time. red and blue ones are teh go 10 reds for every 1-2blue. I'm using Luxeons, works ok. but 5mm super bright ones in proper wavelengths work better (for reds anyway) you can get 660nm and 690nm which help growing :o) Phil
