Just sit back, let them grow for 2 or 3 weeks - then introduce a very watered down feeding of nutrients. Nuts can easily kill your young seedlings.

I got an idea -instead of having a normal tall / round black pot with soil, why not frame up with wood a short flat long and wide square / rectangle ...say couple inches deep with soil? This could save you a couple inches... thoughts anyone?? Does that make sense?

Two things cause purple - genetics and temperature. Temperature is not always a guarantee if you want to force purple shades in your plant...
