Yeah man plus the seeds you buy, and soil, and potting containers, grow tent, nutes, and the electric bill. I think I might flowering using soft white cfls. I think I can get away with it.

Four 2' compact T5 6400k bulbs (20,000 lumens) for vegging 10 plants. And then a bunch of 300 watt soft light CFL bulbs for flowering? I think it would. Ik the veg part would. I'm more concerned about the flowering.

With a cooltube/aircooled hood you would still need ducting right? And what wattage hps would you recommend for ten plants a 1000?

Yeah true. I was gonna buy alot if I decided to take that route. Even if a bought 20 of em it would be less $ than a hps and all the other stuff you gotta buy with it. Plus energy cost would be less.

Normally I would post things like this in newbie central, but i'm looking for answers and input directly from cfl growers. What would be some benefits using cfls over say a 1000 watt hps? You wouldn't need as much ventilation besides a few fans right? Could I expect the same results using cfls...

Yeah that makes sense. Are you saying I should transplant into bigger pots after the first couple of nodes and put them back under the same light? If so i'll just start them off in cups a little bit big bigger so I only have to transplant once into 4 or 5 gall or w/e I want.

I was wondering if a 2 foot 4 lamp T5 6400k (20,000 lumens) would be enough light to take 10 seedlings all the way through veg in 16oz party cups. They would all fit under the lamp easily. And would 16oz party cups be big enough for the plants to veg through or would the roots hit the bottom too...

IMO that would be good for seedlings, clones, and veg stage. I would go bigger but depends on how much you wanna grow. 4ft tall will prob end up having height limitations or ur weed tho. I would agree with two plants also.
